Was it their animal instinct that realised something special was coming their way?  After a request from a local animal lover, the non-profit relief organisation generously donated blankets and cat/dog food to the shelter.

Jaaved Khan (Estcourt representative of the Gift of the Givers Foundation) delivered the supplies and was met by genuine appreciation from the humans and animals alike.

Kennel Manager Nelson Mabaso happily received 10 large and 50 small blankets, as well as the food.

“This will really help us, especially as winter is approaching. Thank you very much,” he said.

Speaking about why Gift of the Givers decided to extend a helping hand to the animals, Mr Khan said that community outreach is not limited to people.

“We are glad to be able to donate these items and hope it will keep the cats and dogs a little warmer during winter,” he added.
