One killed in Vryheid crash, discovered at first light on Sunday morning

THE mangled wreckage of a white Mercedes, found on Sunday morning along the embankment on the Dundee/RTI Bypass just outside of Vryheid, near the Engen Garage, unveiled a chilling and tragic discovery.

The lifeless body of a man, believed to have been killed between Saturday night and the early hours of Sunday morning, was discovered within the vehicle.

While circumstances surrounding the crash are not entirely clear nor confirmed at this point, it is believed that the man, believed to be a well-known community member, lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently rolled, numerous times and came to rest on the embankment alongside the road.

The vehicle, along with the remains of the deceased were discovered at the site of the crash at first light on Sunday morning.
