Editor – When all you hear from uThukela District Municipality is a whole list of excuses and no solution in sight, should you be worried? Repeated phone calls and then their now infamous SMS system that tells you absolutely nothing about why you have not had water for a whole weekend.
Each time they send out an SMS, the message seems to be more contradictory than ever!
uThukela have been running the town’s water supply long enough now not to be surprised or confused about what is wrong.
Yet when you read their SMSs, it really sounds like it is the first day on the job for the person sending the SMSs out.
How, after a whole weekend of water outages, can they not know what is wrong?
How can they still be investigating the cause?
Are they not professionals? Do they not understand how the system works?
