The walk began on October 2 in Johannesburg to mark the 149th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.

Their travels take them through several towns and cities where they spread the word of peace and it will conclude in Mvezo where former South African President Nelson Mandela was born.

“Our joint mission is to spread the message of peace and non-violence given to this world by great iconic leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela,” said group leader Mr Sonawane.
