1 dead in horrific truck accident
The driver's body was trapped and had to be freed by Sharaj and EMRS paramedics
Three trucks were involved in a terrible collision in the early hours of this morning (December 2) near the Bergville Toll Plaza.
It was about 1am when the three trucks were travelling behind each other. The collision saw the truck in the front being hit from behind and in turn, the second truck was hit by the truck at the back.
The driver of the cargo-carrying truck at the back lost his life in the crash. His body was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by Sharaj Ambulance Services and EMRS paramedics.
Aside from the one fatality, three people sustained minor injuries and one other person was treated for shock.
Police, Public Safety, MLM mortuary services and towing personnel were also on scene.
