‘Pray for rain’

“It is dry, the dams are empty. We urgently need the rain and our Heavenly Father knows it. He will provide but we, as a community, need to humbly bow together before Him…”

THE El Niño weather phenomenon has had a devastating effect on Vryheid, severely crippling the community, and the country at large, in its harsh and unrelenting grip.

The drought-stricken, arid land in this once flourishing community has fallen victim to the devastation of nature as the earth cries out for much needed rain and the dams yearn for replenishment, reduced for months to mere pools of mud and waste as the taps remain dry.

“It is dry, the dams are empty. We urgently need the rain and our Heavenly Father knows it. He will provide but we, as a community, need to humbly bow together before Him…”

Robbie Price has spearheaded an initiative to bring the community together in mass prayer action on September 9 at the Vryheid Farmers’ Hall to pray for rain.

“We challenge you to close your business’ doors for a moment. We challenge you to stop your farming and other activities for a moment and to gather as a community, to bow on bended knee before God…”

The prayer meeting will take place from 1pm to 2pm on Friday afternoon.
