Rugby club AGM held – The journey forward

VRYHEID Rugby Club held their AGM last Wednesday evening at the clubhouse.

Players were addressed by the existing committee on pertinent matters regarding the club and its journey forward.

Votes were cast and the existing committee remained relatively unchanged by a show of hands, apart from the welcome addition of the capable Jolanda Van Deventer as Secretary. Rieg Verster remains in his position as President of Vryheid Rugby Club, with Hennie Badenhorst as Acting Chairman. Rich Verster stays on as First Team Coach and Edwill Meiring as Second Team Coach, with Ivan Schwegman as Assistant Coach.

Additional members include Mornè Ellis, David Sandalls, Steven Pennells, Anton Van Der Walt Jr, Abrie Kilian, Jaco Davel and Sticks Mbatha.

The club’s year end function, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday has been postponed until October to allow for players who are currently playing provincial rugby to attend.
