Successful Uthukela District Operation Sukuma Sakhe cabinet visit

The provincial cabinet along with key stakeholders from various government departments, municipalities and the Al-Imdaad Foundation visited a number of wards

On Wednesday the Uthukela District Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS) cabinet visit was hosted by Okhahlamba Local Municipality.

The provincial cabinet along with key stakeholders from various government departments, municipalities and the Al-Imdaad Foundation visited a number of wards within the municipality.

The Premier together with officials from the Al-Imdaad Foundation at the Winter Warmth launch in Ward 11.

Within each ward, delegations led by MEC’s, visited key infrastructure projects including local clinics and early childhood development centres.

Community engagements with local residents also took place. During these sessions awareness campaigns on social ills were conducted and citizens were allowed the opportunity to voice their concerns and challenges.

The day concluded with a debriefing session where the KwaZulu-Natal Premier Willies Mchunu, expressed his excitement at the progress of infrastructure development done by Okhahlamba Local Municipality.

The visit was spear headed by the Office of the Premier.
