Exciting cricket was played by all teams during the tournament with plenty of sixes being hit. After the round robin stage of the tournament, Aster Cricket Club and Farhaan Aluminium were the top two teams.
These two teams competed in the final for the second year running and Aster, looking for revenge after last year’s defeat, elected to bat first.
Aster got off to a good start thanks to Lloyd Ramdeen and Prenay Kewalparsad who both managed to score 24 runs. After 10 overs, Aster reached a total of 87 runs.
Farhaan Aluminium started their run chase fantastically, thanks to the big hitting of Irfan Ali and Sami Ullah who both retired after surpassing the 25 run mark. This however; did not slow down Farhaan Aluminium’s chase as they reached the total runs required in the eighth over thus becoming champions for the second year in a row.
