Police seize stolen vehicle in Colenso

Officers are investigating how the vehicle landed up in the hands of its current owner

The Ladysmith Vehicle Identification Section (VIS) recently seized a white Nissan 1400 in the Colenso area. This was as a result of an operation in which officers followed up on information involving motor vehicles suspected to be stolen.

The vehicle was examined and found to have been stolen in the Vryheid area during May 2013.

Police are investigating how the vehicle landed up in the hands of its current owner.

Police advise the public to be careful when buying second-hand vehicles and to ensure they know the history of ownership of the vehicle.

When uncertain, or where there appears to be discrepancies with the ownership of the vehicle, contact the Ladysmith VIS office on 0393689800 (office hours) and they will be in a position to verify whether the vehicle you intend buying is stolen or not.
