Hundreds gathered at the Indoor Sports Complex yesterday (October 15) for the funeral service of uThukela manager Mpumelelo ‘Mpume’ Mbatha.
‘Mpume’, as he was fondly known, was tragically shot and killed by unknown gunmen at his home in Hospital Park on Wednesday, October 5. He sustained three gunshot wounds to the chest.
On Thursday (October 13), a memorial service was held in Steadville to commemorate and celebrate his life.
Yesterday’s funeral started at 9am. The entire hall was filled with people, dancing and singing in celebration of the man he was.
