Apostolic Faith Mission turns 108 years old

The local Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) of South Africa celebrated their 108th birthday on June 5.

The local Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) of South Africa celebrated their 108th birthday on June 5.

The church, which is situated in Bhekuzulu is lead by Pastor SK Ngema and was founded on the foundations of hearing, adhering and spreading the biblical Word of God.

Members of the congregation were taken through the history of the church from foundational phases when it was led by late founder Pastor John G Lake, and Pastor Richard S Ngidi, who helped bring forth the rise of many other Apostolic Faith Mission congregations on a wide scale.

The church expressed its gratitude to their current presiding President, Dr. Isak Burger who has been in the position for 20 years since 1992 and is said to have played a great role in uniting all races within the AFM . The church is also bidding a sad farewell to Pastor Burger as he will be retiring this year.

The celebrations were lead by the church’s senior pastor SK Ngema, a man whom they say has always encouraged the congregation to stand firm in their faith and to pray without ceasing since the start of his duty back in 2000.
