Officials are trained and capable of assisting parties with the following:

– Advice about your rights and obligations as a tenant or landlord.

– Exercise your rights in an appropriate way by following Rental Housing Act 50 of 1999.

– Resolving disputes effectively and efficiently.

– Protecting your rights against unfair practice by tenants and landlords.

If you are being treated unfairly in any way, a complaint can be lodged with the tribunal to resolve disputes via Newcastle Municipality.

This service is free, so be sure to visit the tribunal offices on 50 Harding Street (Nedbank block).
