2 arrested for skimming cards at toll plaza

Police found a card skimming device which was being used to read information off various types of cards

Two suspects, aged 31 and 33, are set to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (October 3) on charges of fraud.

It recently came to the attention of a toll road company that cards were being skimmed at the Tugela Toll Plaza.

The company approached police with their suspicions and working together with Besters SAPS, an operation was held on Friday (September 30) which led to the arrest of a 31-year-old woman.

In her possession, police found a card skimming device she had been using to read information off various types of cards.

Later the same day, Besters police struck again and arrested a second suspect in the Ladysmith area.
