How can you help Toys for Joy?

We have a 14 ton truck to fill, and we need your help

The ‘Toys for Joy’ drive has really taken off, with offers of help flooding in. The Ladysmith Gazette, partnering with the community and businesses, is trying to give those in need the best Christmas we can…

But to do that, we need your help!

We will be at the Pick ‘n Pay Centre on September 24, where we are hoping to fill a 14-ton truck with our shopping list.

Our ‘Toys for Joy’ grocery list:

•10kg rice – 95
•Tinned tomatoes or chilli pilchards – 170
•500g bags of pasta/spaghetti – 275
•Toppers Cream biscuits – 400
•Large bathing Sunlight soap bars – 170
•Corned chicken loaves (tinned) – 80
•Large instant custard (Ultramel) – 105
•Boxes of jelly – 200
•Large bags of crisps – 280
•5kg mealie meal – 95
•Packets of soup – 450
•Packets of 100 tea bags – 100
•2.5kg bags of sugar – 95
•1 litre Fusion juice – 280
•2 litre cooking oil – 95
•Toilet paper rolls – 500
•Green bars of Sunlight laundry soap – 160
•Any toys for boys and girls

So please make your way down to San Marco Centre and support us on the day.

If you would like to make a cash donation instead of donating an item, please feel free to do so. Together, we can all play our part in giving someone who truly is expecting nothing this Christmas, one they will always remember.

As items pour in, we will reduce the grocery list, so keep an eye on what is still needed.

You do not need to wait, however, you can start dropping off anything on the list now at our offices.
