Members of Lincoln Heights Secondary's Power Circle group of the Leave No Girl Behind initiative took part in a function hosted by sisters, Shameema and Haseena Patel, on August 22 at St Dominic’s Academy.

Members of Lincoln Heights Secondary’s Power Circle group of the Leave No Girl Behind initiative took part in a function hosted by sisters, Shameema and Haseena Patel, on August 22 at St Dominic’s Academy.

The Circle participated and contributed to various activities at the function, and members of the Circle, headed by Jawariya Khan and Zakira Pathai, also managed a stall designing henna tattoos to raise funds for the group.

Spreading the message of honouring one’s true beauty, the school’s budding poet, Thabisile Dhlamini, presented a poem titled ‘My perfect imperfections’, which was very well received by the audience.

A stage performance, co-hosted by Makhosazane Twala, featured Nomdeni Sikhakane, Thabisle Dhlamini, Nokwazi Lephoto, Cebisile Mhlaba , and Sinethemba Nyamane, singing the lyrics of ‘Love me for me’.

Mrs T S Pillay thanked the Lincoln Heights Secondary School’s Power Circle group and Miss K Archary for contributing to the function.
