St Dominic’s Academy Newcastle is extremely proud of its budding artists and musicians.

St Dominic’s Academy Newcastle is extremely proud of its budding artists and musicians.

Pupils obtained excellent results in the recent Eisteddfod.

Results are as follows:

ART

Grade 10 – Peggy Hsu received five triple golds, while Aphelele Ndlovu earned four triple golds.

Grade 11 – Michaela Lubbe was awarded four double golds and one triple gold. Dylan van der Merwe earned one gold and five silvers, while Tayla Ponter holds one triple gold, six double golds and three silvers.

Two double golds, four golds and four silvers belong to Estelle Chetty.

Grade 12 – Kylie Ponter earned two double golds, Phindile Ndlovu received four triple golds and Jamie Botha was awarded one each of triple gold and double gold. Roxanne Harkness earned three golds.

Arun Hsu, Suhaan Singh, Asma Karrim and Erin le Roux also received gold awards for senior primary art.

MUSIC

Junior Primary – Golds were awarded to: Masibonge Nkosi, Ethan Baliram, Grace Hoatson, Caitlin le Roux, Jacey Filipe, Ayush Mahie, Sahuri Govender, Grace Wu, Naleli Zincume, Brian Colliyer, Jessica Hoatson, Mvelo Ndlela, Makayla Govender, Jamie Wilson and Badumetsi Kubheka.

Senior Primary – Golds were awarded to Mpume Zincume, Reuben Claassen, Megan Potgieter, Tumi Masange, Lianka Grobler and Senate Lekholoane.

High School – Golds were awarded to Ryan Paulsen, Anele Mpungose, Sheryl-Anne Grobler and Estelle Chetty.

“The Senior Primary School Choir and the High School Marimba Band received double golds, and the Grade 7 Marimba Band was awarded a gold,” the school added.

“Congratulations to all of the participants.”
