Toys for Joy kicks off in 2016

The dynamic team members descended on the robots and San Marco Centre, shaking their money tins and "demanding" donations from motorists and morning shoppers

Ladysmith Gazette staff, together with Mark’s Tyres, raised money for ‘Toys for Joy’ on Saturday morning in Harrismith Road.

The dynamic team members descended on the robots and San Marco Centre, shaking their money tins and “demanding” donations from motorists and morning shoppers. This first ‘Toys for Joy’ drive of 2016, which also incorporated ‘67 minutes for Mandela Day’, saw R12,000 being raised!

‘Toys for Joy’ is a fund-raising campaign in which Ladysmith Gazette staff, along with ABI and Sharaj Ambulance Services, take the time to collect as much money, toys and food as possible to hand over to those who need it most.

This gives businesses and individuals the opportunity to play their part in giving children and adults who are less fortunate a great Christmas.
