Bargains galore at Khulisa jumble sale

Khulisa is a South African registered non profit organisation, aspiring to change lives for the better, working with the public, private and NGO sectors to uplift communities, focusing on the poor and unemployed, victims of rape and violence, perpetrators of crime and those of all ages who may be affected by these social afflictions.

THE dedicated staff at Khulisa Social Solutions in Vryheid dug deep into their cupboards recently.

In an effort to raise funds, they rounded up old clothes and held a jumble sale outside their offices at the Glutz Centre in Landdrost Street on the morning of December 2. The jumble sale was well supported by the public with most of the secondhand clothing and effects being sold by 11:00am.

Striving to alleviate poverty, reduce crime and empower victims, Khulisa has featured often in the Vryheid Herald lately, most recently raising awareness in the community for the nationwide 16 Days of Activism campaign by handing out pamphlets pertaining to the ongoing battle against the abuse of women and children and white ribbons to symbolise support for the cause.
