Horse polo at Kandahar grounds

The event started at 9am and continued throughout the day

A day for everyone to enjoy was held on Saturday at the Kandahar Avenue sports grounds.

As part of the Battlefields Festival, the itinerary included horse polo, a fashion show and various stalls selling tasty foods. A stage was set up, and the onstage entertainment included Indian and Zulu dancers.

As far as the horse polo is concerned, the tournament was linked with the horseback games that were held during the Anglo-Boer War (Siege of Ladysmith) 1899-1900.

The event started at 9am and continued throughout the day.

Crowds of people gathered to watch the entertainment and when the official action was done, young boys raced for fun or took people for a walk on the horses.

Lots of people flocked to the grounds for some festive entertainment.
