Career Day at ML Sultan Estcourt Primary

A special invitation was sent to the paramedic team to send representatives to enlighten learners about a career in this Emergency Rescue Unit

October 13 was filled with excitement as ML Sultan Estcourt Primary School learners arrived at school all dressed up to highlight a variety of careers. There were many doctors, nurses, teachers and even a policeman.

A special invitation was sent to the paramedic team to send representatives to enlighten learners about a career in this Emergency Rescue Unit.

There was much hype at assembly as Mr S Buddoo and Mr Misrilall arrived in the ambulance. Mr S Buddoo demonstrated to learners the use of various equipment that is used in an emergency. He also explained the need for learners to do well in Maths and Science as these subjects are needed if they wish to take up any career in the Health Sciences. Learners were also informed that paramedics work long hours and the challenges they experience on arriving at an accident scene.

Learners were not only given an opportunity to view the inside of the ambulance and all its equipment, but to also ask questions about this life saving career. Learners delivered amazing talks about various careers.

Aphiwe Masondo, Karabo Motala and Amahle Mabaso were all geared up to become Specialist Medical Doctors. Shibe Kekana appeared in her black gown as she described that she will become a criminal lawyer and eventually a Judge. The school wishes to thank Mr S Buddoo and Mr Misrilall for taking the time to make this eventful morning a success.
