7 life sentences secured by KwaZulu-Natal FCS Unit

Seven life sentences along with 234 years’ imprisonment were secured and 195 arrests made in the month of May

The KwaZulu-Natal Family Violence, Child Protection & Sexual Offences Unit continues in its persistence to keep sexual predators behind bars, and protect women and children of our province from sexual predators.

While celebrating ‘Child Protection Week’, seven life sentences along with 234 years’ imprisonment were secured and 195 arrests made in the month of May.

FCS investigators worked tirelessly tracking, tracing and arresting suspects and then sending well-prepared dockets for prosecution to solve sexual-related cases including rape, sexual assault, attempted rape, child stealing and abduction.

The KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bhekinkosi Langa, welcomed the sentences handed down to the accused. “Protecting women and children in this province is our priority as the FCS Unit, and we will continue to do so, keeping all sexual predators in jail for a long time,” he said.
