15 year-old stabbed and robbed while walking home

The suspects are still at large and the police are probing the case.

VRYHEID SAPS have issued a warning to community members to avoid walking alone especially in deserted areas at any time of the day as criminals target these areas. According to the SAPS’s Major Mbatha, they have received numerous reports of rape and robbery cases where people were targeted by criminals while walking alone. In one such instance, a 15 year old boy from a local high school was walking home from school along the Nkamane road on Saturday, August 15, when he was approached by two men who attacked him, stabbed him and ran off with his schoolbag, school shoes and cellphone. The suspects are still at large and the police are probing the case. The SAPS urge community members to always walk in groups especially in these secluded areas as crooks are always on the prowl and desperate to get their hands on valuable items.
