EFF come out in force to support Palestinian cause

Supporting the Palestine Solidarity Committee of Ladysmith

A ‘March for Palestine’ was held in front of the Town Hall on Saturday morning (March 19). The Economic Freedom Front (EFF) turned out in force to support the march.

Events like this are held every year across the world as part of ‘Israeli Apartheid Week’ to highlight the struggles of the Palestinian people. A call was also made to all Christian churches and Jews of South Africa for their support in helping to combat the atrocities being meted out to the Palestinian people by the Israeli forces.

Masses of red, brightly-coloured supporters of the EFF chanted in support of Palestine.

‘Israeli Apartheid Week’ (last week) is an annual series of university lectures and rallies against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. The series is held in February or March.

The march was organised by the Palestine Solidarity Committee of Ladysmith. They expressed delight at the support they received from local interest groups, including the Ladysmith branch of the EFF.
