MEC thrilled with excellent Majuba

She was thoroughly impressed with the systems set in place by the college to ensure students would constantly receive high quality education and training.

Majuba TVET College is a leader in tertiary education in South Africa.

Today, it stands as a testament to what can be achieved through dedication, hard work and vision, while constantly striving towards growth and excellence.

During a recent visit to the college, KwaZulu-Natal MEC of Education, Peggy Nkonyeni said, “Majuba TVET is an excellent example of what can be achieved if it is done right.”

She was thoroughly impressed with the systems set in place by the college to ensure students would constantly receive high quality education and training.

She also encouraged students to consider a career as an artisan, as artisans are in great demand and will most likely ensure their own employment once they completed their studies.

One of the reasons Mrs Nkonyeni visited Majuba Technology Centre (MTC) Campus, was to view equipment donated by Eskom to the college.

The donation consisted of circuit boards, breakers and other electrical apparatuses to be used during students’ training.

“We like to see partnerships created between public and private sectors, and we are thankful to Eskom for assisting Majuba in this way,” she said.

Although Majuba is the one of the largest TVET Colleges in the country, there are plans to expand by opening new campuses and trade test centres in the district within the next year.

A good example is the Dundee campus, which was funded completely through Majuba TVET’s internal funding capital programmes; an amazing feat indeed.

No doubt the college is in good hands.
