Bowls to warm the spirit

Over a bowl of home cooked food last Saturday, members of the carpet bowling fraternity came together to reinforce the notion of camaraderie among sport lovers.

One might find sport a good way to make that connection.

Over a bowl of home cooked food last Saturday, members of the carpet bowling fraternity came together to reinforce the notion of camaraderie among sport lovers.

“The friendly fellowship also helps keep the spirits warm, so there is no reason not to enjoy a good game of carpet bowls,” explained organiser, Trevor Smale.

He added the menu by Ina was of impeccable quality.

“Ina served us butternut soup, followed by vetkoek with curried mince, then rounded off with warm apple pudding – it was delicious!”

The dinner helped Billy, Hester and Trevor triumph over Ina, Claire and Michael, by two ends to nil.

“We extend a welcome to anyone interested in joining us at our next monthly social, from 6pm on June 27.”
