Hoërskool Vryheid – VHS graduate returns as teacher

A warm welcome to Mr Neil Koch who matriculated at VHS 18 years ago and is now back to teach science. We trust it will be an enriching experience for him.

 

‘n BAIE suksesvolle rugbyweek is van 31 Maart tot 4 April by Hoërskool Vryheid gehou.

Dit was die 28ste agtereenvolgende rugbyweek. Twee en twintig spanne van oor die hele land het deelgeneem en dit maak dit een van die grootste rugbyweke in Suid-Afrika. Die hoofwedstryd was tussen Afrikaans Hoër Kroonstad en Hoërskool Pionier. Dit was ‘n baie opwindende wedstryd en is in ekstra tyd deur Hoërskool Pionier vir die derde agtereenvolgende jaar gewen.

‘n Verdere hoogtepunt was die Nashua valskermspringers wat die rugbyballe gebring het. Die springers se vaardigheid en spoed het die toeskouers na hul asems laat snak! Tydens elke wedstryd is die “Ster van die Stryd” aangewys en elke speler het ‘n toksak, geborg deur FNB, ontvang.

Sport vs Newcastle: VHS played wintersport against Newcastle High School. Generally there was an excellent spirit amongst all competitors. Results: Netball: u/14A 7-17; u/15A 9-15; u/15B 10-3; u/16A 17-19; u/16B 3-14; Second 23-17 and First 18-13. Rugby: u/14A 22-19; u/15A 7-17; u/16A 17-35; Second 26-24 and First 15-22. Girls’ Hockey: u/14 0-0; u/16 5-0 and First 2-2. Boys’ Hockey: First 1-0. Chess: 1-5.

Revue – Don’t Stop! Next week is show time. Children will have the opportunity to see the morning shows, while there are only two evening shows that adults can attend. On Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29, the evening shows will start at 6:30pm. Entrance fee is R30-00 per person.
