Update: Farm attack at Besters on Christmas Day

Suspects set to appear in court today

Police are investigating a case of robbery as well as possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition after the farm attack in Besters on Christmas Day.

A 57-year-old man was checking on a water tank at his farm in the Besters area when he was approached by two men armed with firearms. They demanded cash from him.

They tied him up and went to his home, where they stole cash and firearms.

Two suspects, both aged 32, were later arrested. The stolen cash and firearms were also recovered.

The suspects are set to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today.
