Councillor killed in car crash

The accident was allegedly caused by cattle in the road

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) lost a councillor last night (Monday) in a motor vehicle accident near Weenen.

Councillor Joseph Muziwenhlanhla Ntshaba (46) was the former IFP mayor of Umtshezi and represented the IFP on the uThukela District Executive at the time of his death.

Cllr Ntshaba was involved in a head-on collision with a truck.

Cllr Ntshaba had recently returned from a study trip to China. He held many positions within the IFP, including that of former youth chairperson in Umtshezi.

“On behalf of his Royal Highness Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, President of the IFP, and members of the National Executive Committee, I convey heartfelt condolences to the Ntshaba family, friends and the IFP leadership in Umtshezi. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all,” said IFP national chairman Blessed Gwala MPL.
