Municipal staff could be seen cleaning out gutters, repairing potholes and attending to electrical work in the central business district. While this may be a welcome sight for some residents, a local businessman was not impressed by the number of workers that were present at one site.

“About 17 people were patching up a pothole at the corner of Connor and Albert streets. It made me wonder how many people it takes to do this job. Some of the workers were standing around idle, watching their co-workers,” remarked the resident.

He added that the services of those workers standing around doing nothing could be better utilised in other areas. The municipality was advised of the resident’s concerns.
