Raising money for the less fortunate

The friendly team shook their tins and asked for donations from 8am till 12pm

Ladysmith Gazette staff were seen raising funds for the ‘Toys for Joy’ campaign outside Glasfit in Murchison Street on Saturday morning. The friendly team shook their tins and asked for donations from 8am till 12pm, raising a tidy sum of money.

Every year, the Gazette collects money for this worthy cause to put smiles on the faces of the less fortunate over the Christmas period. The money is used to buy toys, sweet hampers and food for needy children in the Ladysmith area. There was also a lucky draw, where donors stood the chance of winning a security gate valued at R4100 from Glasfit.

Some of the “tin-rattlers” even went all the way to the robots at the bottom of the street to try their luck there.

A special thank you to all who contributed on the day!
