Police investigate suspect linked to over 20 rapes
His victims are both young boys and girls
Concerned parents have reported a teenager they believe to be responsible for between 20 and 30 rapes in a rural area close to Ladysmith. Police do not want to release too much information as they investigate the alleged rapes.
The teenager is believed to have started raping children at the age of 13. He is now 15 years old.

“We have to tread lightly because of the age of the victims and the suspect. At least one of the victims is believed to have been a five-year-old girl,” explained an officer close to the investigation.
The Ladysmith FCS is investigating a case of multiple rapes over a two-year period,” confirmed Ladysmith police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig. “The Department of Social Development is also involved, as the children may need counselling.”
The rapes took place between 2013 and 2015, with at least three cases registered so far. Police expect more cases to be opened.
