2 injured as taxi crashes into storm water drain

The vehicle was suspended by Public Safety and towed away to the pound

2 people were injured when a taxi crashed into a fence and then a storm water drain in Hobsland yesterday evening.

It is alleged that the taxi driver lost control going around a bend and crashed into a fence and storm water drain before coming to a standstill.

Sharaj Ambulance Services and EMS paramedics stabilised the injured and transported them to hospital for further treatment.

The driver fled the scene of the accident.

The vehicle was suspended by Public Safety and towed away to the pound.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

It took officials well over an hour to clear the accident scene.
