Nepotism issue at municipality

Police had to be called in to control a mob of angry community members in front of the municipal buildings this morning.
The residents are said to be angry about the secret recruitment of certain ANC members as municipal general workers.
According to the protesters, no job posts were made public yet at an ANC meeting that was held in Bhekuzulu Hall yesterday, members of this party were secretly given jobs.
“We heard about this secret meeting and decided to come and see for ourselves why these people were given jobs yet we have been applying for years at the municipality to no avail,” said one of the angry residents who wished to not be named in fear of not being considered for future municipal vacancies.
One of the bystanders stated that names of those who were hired were read out at the gate and those who had been called entered the building to sign their contracts while the rest were left swearing and shouting until the police were called in.
It is still unclear whether the allegations that only ANC members were recruited are true but the crowd is still standing in front of the municipal building and demanding to speak to the director.
