A massive water leak sprung up in Gelofte Street during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
Water can still be seen bubbling out of the ground from various points and flowing all over the road.
According to area residents Thabani Ndlovu and Gracious Sithole, there was no water leaking anywhere yesterday, but this morning when they walked out to the road, they couldn’t help but notice water streaming everywhere.
To make matters worse, the water is going straight down an open manhole, with gallons and gallons of this precious resource going to waste.
Motorists have to try their best to avoid the huge puddles in the road.
According to the uThukela call centre, their workers are in the process of attending to the burst pipe.
