Men march to put an end to abuse, drugs

A Men’s March targeting violence and drugs took place on Saturday morning from the Town Hall to Settlers Park. A large crowd of men marched down Murchison Street, holding up banners and placards bearing important slogans and messages.

The aim of the march was to discourage violence against women and children, and also served as an anti-drug campaign.

Pedestrians and motorists alike couldn’t help but have their attention drawn by the marchers as they sang and danced along the way. uThukela Mayor Dudu Mazibuko also marched to show her support for the cause.

When the marchers arrived at Settlers Park, speeches were given and then the marchers dispersed.

Police and Public Safety maintained a visible presence to make sure everything went smoothly.
