Tuck shop attacked in Ezakheni

15 to 20 Ethiopians were rescued by police and brought into Ladysmith last night

Reports have come in that a shop was attacked in Ezakheni C3-Section last night (Tuesday).

A tuck shop belonging to a foreign national was targeted by community members. According to initial reports, the Ethiopian shop owner and his family were attempting to leave the area, but the community stopped them from doing so.

15 to 20 Ethiopians were rescued by police and brought into Ladysmith last night.

According to SAPS spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane, the attack is not xenophobic related. Police are still investigating.
