Petrol price to increase in June

The petrol price will increase between 48 and 52 cents a litre in June, according to the Automobile Association of SA

Motorists will be fuming after hearing that the price of petrol is set to once again increase next month.

The petrol price will increase between 48 and 52 cents a litre in June, the Automobile Association of SA (AA) said.

Diesel is expected to rise between 52 and 56 cents a litre, and illuminating paraffin by 50 cents a litre.

“Despite the relative stability of the Rand/US Dollar exchange rate, the basic fuel price has been driven upwards by increases in international petroleum prices,” the AA said.

But one thing is certain, motorists are in for a tough few months, with a visit to “fill up” likely to hit their wallets hard.
