Members of the Ward 6 Forestdale community marched on the municipality on Friday, demanding that their Ward Councillor, Mrs IT Makaba, step down.
The community protested outside the municipality, demanding that something be done about their grievances, before handing over a petition to the Speaker and Mayor.
She is accused of tampering with the housing beneficiary list and giving homes to government employees who earn housing subsidies.
Her daughter is also accused of assaulting a member of the Forestdale Housing Committee, while Mrs Makaba is accused of verbally assaulting and threatening to hit the Chairman of the Forestdale Housing Committee in the Department of Human Settlements boardroom.
The community asked that their grievances be treated as a matter of urgency.
