Thugs use cable ties to tie up elderly couple
A well-known Indian couple were held up and assaulted by robbers at their home just after 1.30pm. The couple own a tuck shop in the Leonardsville area.
Four male suspects entered the premises through the back entrance, and tied up the husband and wife using cable ties. The wife was hit in the face and a gag was stuffed into her mouth to stop her from screaming.
The robbers demanded cash, and proceeded to take cigarettes and 2 cell-phones. They then fled the scene.
Brigadier Kunene, Ladysmith station commissioner, took personal charge of the operation to hunt down the suspects.
She is seen here planning the manhunt for the wanted suspects.
