Possible hail storm to hit Newcastle

A storm is brewing in Northern KwaZulu Natal; dark clouds are swirling and thunder is ominously growling with brief flashes of lightning on the horison.

According to a BBM broadcast message sent out shortly after 2pm by Richard Marais of South African Community Crime Watch Newcastle, it is believed there is a strong possibility of hail this afternoon.

Weather reports claim a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms and an estimated three millimeters of rain.

Residents are urged to move their vehicles and themselves to a safe location, to avoid unnecessary damage or injury if the storm does bring hail.
