No need to shop for Christmas decorations

There is no need to buy expensive decorations this Christmas. Instead, use whatever you have in your home to make your own decorations, says Alta van Aard from the Suid-Afrikaanse Vroue Landbou Unie.

Review asked Van Aard to share some of her homemade decoration ideas:

1. Take a small transparent bowl. Place some streamers in the bowl and add a bright-coloured Christmas tree ball on top of the streamers and you have a lovely table decoration.
2. Take a flower vase, it can be any shape, and place it in the middle of the table. Put some streamers inside the vase and put a big flower or two on top of the streamers. Decorate around the vase with some sea shells or small stones if you don’t have sea shells.
3. A person can decorate the glasses by adding a string of pearls around the bottom of the glasses.

Anything in our home can be used as decorations, including flowers from your garden.
