A sad farewell to Dr Jai Singh

"Everyone is very saddened by his passing. He was a true friend, a true gentleman and a great family man. He will be remembered for his friendly, kind and helpful nature. He was a great man."

Doctor Jai Singh, father, renowned dental surgeon and prominent Ncandu 86 Round Table member tragically passed away during the early hours of Wednesday, September 10.

Dr Singh was known for his friendly demeanor, his compassionate nature and his infinite love for his family. He was recognised as a talented dental surgeon with a gentle touch and a kind, reassuring word for every single patient.

There has been an outpouring of sadness and shock at his sudden passing over social media.

“Dr Singh will be missed all over the world, not only in Newcastle,” said Johan Pieters, longtime friend and fellow Round Table member. “Everyone is very saddened by his passing. He was a true friend, a true gentleman and a great family man. He will be remembered for his friendly, kind and helpful nature. He was a great man.”

The Mayor of Newcastle, Afzul Rehman, also voiced his sadness.

“Dr Singh was an outstanding human being and citizen of Newcastle. He will be remembered for his kind nature and dedication to serving humanity,” he said. “We are all saddened by this loss and offer our condolences and support to his family during this time of sorrow.”
