‘Quran and Science’ lecture at IEC

Muhammad Shuaib presented a variety of examples of scientific discoveries present in the Quran

A public lecture entitled ‘Quran and Science’ was held at the Islamic Educational Centre (IEC) on Friday night. Hosted by Islamic Propagation Centre International (IPCI), the enlightening and informative talk was delivered by guest speaker Dr Sayyed. Muhammad Shuaib, a medical practitioner by profession who has been involved in creating awareness of Islam and its practices for 25 years, presented a variety of examples of scientific discoveries present in the Quran.

Audience members listened attentively to the astounding facts in matters dealing with the beginning of time, as well as concepts relating to the planets’ movements and other space discoveries, all contained in the Quran and relevant to science in this day and age.
In addition to this, oceanology was a focal point of discussion, as Dr Shuaib used Quranic verses to support his discussion about the water cycle and the meeting of two oceans that never mix.

A question and answer session was then held, with audience members being allowed the opportunity to clarify and receive more information on the subject matter under discussion. It was an educational experience that certainly taught the audience about the miracles and wonders of science, as contained in the Holy Quran.
