Crazy for cuisine at IEC

The meals prepared were sumptuous

The Grade 5 class at the Islamic Educational Centre (IEC) recently held a ‘Cuisine Day’ as part of a Life Skills project. Life Skills educator Mrs HB Ahmed instructed her pupils on choosing a theme, and preparing food and decorations accordingly. The children were encouraged to be as creative as possible in their efforts and they certainly did not disappoint!

Learners were divided into groups for the project and this ensured a combination of ideas from the various members, each with their own preferences. A variety of cuisine was presented on the day – including Mexican, Indian and Chinese – and the learners were dressed in the cultural attire of the group they chose to represent. The meals prepared were sumptuous and the learners provided a five-star course in their respective choice of cuisine. Mrs Ahmed was proud of the learners’ teamwork and the commitment they showed to ensure a fantastic layout on the day.

An excellent all-round effort indeed!
