After a recent visit to the Wagendrift Dam a huge hook got stuck in my shoe.
With that close call I cannot imagine if a toddler entered the dam for a swim or was simply running around barefoot what could have happened. I want to encourage keen fishermen, when purchasing fishing equipment, to take the salesmen’s advice.
They have experience and are willing to advise you on purchasing the correct equipment and making use of the best techniques. Such irresponsibility could lead to serious injury and allow for others who fish responsibly to be perceived the wrong way.
