Praying for rain at Lions Park

 A prayer for rain was held at Lions Park on Sunday morning. People prayed to end the ongoing drought the land is facing, and for much-needed rain in Ladysmith.

Guru Krishnamoorthy conducted the prayer, together with townsfolk who turned up on the day. Indra Pooja (Hawan) was performed, and a particular holy verse was recited 1008 times. Flowers were offered to the river in order to receive blessings so that the Deities will be happy to send rain to Ladysmith.

The prayer was well attended, in spite of the cold and the light rain already falling. Breyani was served to those in attendance.

According to Guru, the rain prayer will also be done in years to come.
