Bright side of your life

Never retire from making extremely meaningful contributions in life

Have you ever met someone who suddenly made you value your life a lot more than you ever have before? Well recently I have, it’s almost as if they get placed in your path for a reason beyond your understanding. They just show up and change the way you see the world.

Commemorating Youth Day just a day ago (Happy belated Youth Day Fresh Takers, never stop being youthful), I’ve heard people say, youth of today are unambitious, they don’t dream big enough and the list is endless. “These teenagers and young adults prioritse a balanced work life and flexible working hours, while wanting to earn heaps of money,” they say.

According to them we don’t live for work, rather we work to live. And we may feel very offended but to be totally honest how many of us thought or still think this way? Happiness comes from things that are really not about money, but that which comes from within you.

Is money everything that you need to make you happy? Would you prefer living for meaning instead of money? Maybe one day you might think of changing your mind of chasing money, rather, assemble your courage, and chase your dream! This individual made me realise that life isn’t all about making an income but an impact, and that instead of striving to be a success, I should strive to be of value.

I’ve come to see that I shouldn’t overlook certain situations and learn to be thankful. Never retire from making extremely meaningful contributions in life. Educate people you meet to be happy, so they know the value of things, not the price. Our lives are the only meaningful expression of what we believe, and in whom we believe.

And the only real wealth, for any of us, lies in our faith, time, family and health. To all the fathers and father figures out there have a Happy Father’s Day this coming Sunday.
