Local policemen run Comrades Marathon

It was the lieutenant's first attempt, and the second attempt for the warrant officer

Two local police officers are proud to have completed the 2014 Comrades Marathon. They are Lieutenant Nkosi of the Ladysmith Finance Section and Warrant Officer Jacques Meyer of the Ladysmith K9 Unit.

It was the lieutenant’s first attempt, and the second attempt for the warrant officer.

Lt Nkosi crossed the finish line in 10 hours and 45 minutes, while WO Meyer had 15 minutes to spare with his 11 hours and 45 minutes.

They both ran for police clubs, namely Ingwe SAPS and SAPS Striders respectively.

These men in blue admit that it was a gruelling experience, but say they are now enjoying the satisfaction of having completed the race.

They are both confident that they will indeed run future Comrades Marathons and would like to place on record their appreciation to friends and family, as well as all who supported them during their preparations and during the race itself.
