Police do team-building to better fight crime

The meeting ended off with a pap 'n wors braai, after which the officers returned to their duties in a more positive frame of mind

Colenso police combined their recent station meeting with a team-building effort aimed at becoming a better crime-fighting unit.

The station commander started the meeting with a short team-building exercise during which the message was brought across that the officers should not compete with one another but rather combine their efforts in order to have a greater impact on crime, be a better winning team, and enhance service delivery to their external and internal clients.

Commenting on the success of the event, acting station commander Captain Desré Heunis said, “We are grateful to God for the positive response by our Colenso SAPS members and employees regarding the attendance of the station meeting. Members who were working night shift the night before, who were on rest days and even who were on vacation leave attended our station meeting.”

The meeting ended off with a pap ‘n wors braai, after which the officers returned to their duties in a more positive frame of mind. In closing the event, Captain Heunis shared these sentiments, “May God bless the Colenso SAPS employees and our Ladysmith Cluster, and may He watch over our little ‘city’ of Colenso.”
